After resting her team for a little over 4 hours Aily has picked back up and is now racing towards Ruby at a pace of 8.7 mph. Compared to the others that is an average of 2 mph faster and more than twice as fast as the slowest on that part of the trail. She […]

there are now 20 teams en route to the Yukon river and the Ruby Checkpoint. While Aily Zirkle is still resting the Seaveys and John Baker passed her and move towards Ruby at a steady pace of around 7 miles per hour.

The top four are on the way to Ruby and Mitch just passed Aliy who was resting on the trail. Here is a snip from the GPS Live Tracker

Mar - 09 2012

Looking at the GPS Tracker I can see that there are 8 teams moving towards Ruby now while Lanier and Mackey seem to still rest in Cripple. Aliy is still in the lead with Mitch Seavey still around 6 miles behind her. John Baker has slowed down quite a bit and it looks like Dallas Seavey […]

The teams of Aily Zirkle, Mitch Seavey, John Baker and Dallas Seavey have moved out of Cripple and are on their way to Ruby. A 70 mile run through soft and powdery snow. Currently Aily is in the lead approximately 5 miles ahead of Mitch who is running at approximately the same speed as Aily. […]

Mar - 08 2012

Jim Lanier, Trent Herbst, Ray Redington Jr., Martin and Rohn Buser made their way into Ophir last night to get the mandatory 24 hour rest behind them. I am waiting for the teams in McGrath to get on their way and it is going to be interesting to see if Lance Mackey will be able […]

Mar - 07 2012

As Aliy Zirkle continues to maintain a good and steady pace into Takotna she is followed by a close packed group of front running teams. While Aliy goes through the Vet check at her parking spot more teams arrive. Most of them have been running for some time and will require a longer break here […]
